This marks the first time information of this nature has been exchanged by both states. Although there has been some achievement growth—primarily in math—performance gaps have widened based on race/ethnicity, financial status and maternal educational attainment. Life Sciences Industry CensusThe Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute has updated its 2003 Industry Census Ð providing an in-depth view of the region's life sciences companies, including employment trends. For the purpose of this report, "life sciences companies" are define as those that engage in research and development activities within life sciences (the study of the biology of plants, animals, or humans) or directly support research and development activities within life sciences. |
